The Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling that covers the basic principles of manual handling such as manual handling equipment and common manual handling injuries. The topics of this course are covered over half a day and it is a theory-based course with no practical sessions*. This course is ideal for all workplaces in reducing those manual handling injuries that could occur such as when lifting something at work. With manual handling causing over a third of workplace injuries it is important that working environments minimise the risks of manual handling injuries by becoming aware of the risks and having the knowledge. The Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling course is a nationally recognised qualification and is a regulated course.
*Please note that this qualification does not include practical sessions. Those requiring practical Manual Handling training should undertake the Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling.

This theory-based training course is ideal for all employees in the workplace as it provides individuals with the basic knowledge and the awareness of safe manual handling practices and the risks of unsafe manual handling.
During the course, there will be a range of learning styles incorporated to maximise your learning experience. There will be a multiple-choice examination at the end of the course to test your knowledge. Upon successful completion of the course, each delegate will have the knowledge, confidence, and certification to go to their workplace and apply what they have learned to minimise the risk of unsafe manual handling.
Refresher training is recommended every 3 years which will be a half-day course to refresh and update your manual handling knowledge.
