Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)


The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course is one of the UK’s most popular workplace first aid programmes. On completion, you will have completed recognised first aid training that meets the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, fully compliant with UK government laws and accepted nationwide as a valid qualification. This course isn’t just for workplaces; anyone wanting to learn essential life saving first aid skills, from beginners to experienced first aiders, will benefit.

This course is ideal for appointed first aiders in low risk workplaces (e.g. offices, retail, schools, and hospitality). It provides essential skills and practical knowledge to confidently manage emergency first aid situations in the workplace.

Course Requirements
  • No prior first aid knowledge needed
  • Minimum age 14 years
  • Physically able** to carry out practical elements
  • Comfortable clothing recommended
  • A smartphone or tablet is required to scan QR codes for the test

What You'll Learn

The 1 day emergency first aid at work course covers everything needed to act quickly and confidently in workplace emergencies.

Emergency Response

  • Understand the First Aider’s role and responsibilities
  • Assess the scene and act safely
  • Call emergency services when needed
  • Conduct the Primary Survey (DR ABC)

CPR & AED

  • Perform CPR on adults
  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely
  • Know when to start and stop CPR
  • Identify common difficulties during resuscitation

Recovery Position

  • Recovery Position: Place a breathing casualty in the recovery position
  • Conduct ongoing checks on breathing

Wound Care

  • Control bleeding effectively
  • Treat minor cuts, grazes, bruises, burns, and splinters
  • Apply bandages correctly

Medical Emergencies & Choking Procedures

  • Recognise heart attacks and strokes
  • Respond to seizures and other medical conditions
  • Identify partial or complete airway obstruction
  • Apply correct first aid response

Shock and Fainting 

 

  • Recognise signs of shock or fainting
  • Provide immediate first aid support
